The Culinary Heritage Project
Festival Kiosk
- Purpose
- Turn a festival, exhibition or public event into a culinary-memory collection point.
- Suitable setting
- A table, two chairs, a tablet or laptop, a printed QR to this Event page.
- Suggested participants
- Passers-by. One steward nearby, not hovering.
- Group size
- One person or a small family at a time.
- Approximate format
- Open Kiosk Mode. Large type. Speak / Write / Upload. Video coming next. Return to start after each contribution.
- Host guidance
- Do not interpret the visitor’s food. Thank them. Reset the screen.
- Preservation prompts
- What food memory would you like to preserve?
- Suggested interview questions
- Optional: Where is this from, in your own words? Who cooked it?
- What to bring
- Nothing. The kiosk is the kit.
- KinDish contribution methods
- Kiosk Mode on this Event. QR for people who will contribute later on their own phone.
- Privacy and consent
- Show privacy choices in large type. Default is research or family — not a public broadcast.
- What knowledge this event tries to preserve
- Short personal food memories from people who meet in public.
- Expected archival outcome
- A public Event page with only the memories the speakers marked public. Empty is honest if no one has spoken yet.
